Terms of Service for Ravelo
Last updated: June 15, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ravelo iOS application, ravelo.app website, early-access forms, support channels, diagnostics, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Ravelo.
1. What Ravelo does
Ravelo is an iOS focus and time-management app. It uses a Time Currency system that lets you earn time through configured productive activity and spend time to access configured restricted apps or categories.
Ravelo relies on Apple's Screen Time technologies, including FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings, to monitor selected usage and apply system-level restrictions. Some features may also use local notifications, Live Activities, iCloud services, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and subscription infrastructure.
Ravelo is not medical advice, therapy, clinical treatment, or a guaranteed cure for ADHD, phone addiction, procrastination, or any mental-health condition. It is a behavioral productivity tool.
2. No Ravelo account
The iOS app does not require you to create a Ravelo account. Your core app configuration, Time Currency balance, focus history, market activity, and blocking state are primarily stored on your device using Apple-supported app storage.
Some features use identifiers or accounts from platform providers. For example, Apple handles App Store purchases, RevenueCat manages subscription entitlement status, PostHog receives product analytics events, Firebase may receive crash or remote-config information, and early-access signup uses email-based records.
3. Screen Time permissions
Ravelo needs Screen Time authorization to perform its core functions. You are responsible for granting, maintaining, or revoking these permissions through iOS.
If Screen Time authorization is denied, revoked, interrupted, limited by iOS, or affected by Apple API behavior, Ravelo may not be able to monitor selected activity, earn minutes, apply shields, maintain active market sessions, or enforce restrictions correctly.
You understand that Ravelo's app-blocking and monitoring features depend on Apple's operating system and APIs, which are outside our control.
4. Time Currency, blocking, and configuration
You are responsible for selecting the apps, categories, domains, earning rules, restricted targets, daily allowance, streak goal, and related settings you use in Ravelo.
Ravelo may update balances, focus sessions, market activity, quick peeks, restrictions, and notifications based on your configuration and device activity reported by iOS. Local device state, time changes, iOS updates, permission changes, reinstalling the app, subscription changes, or API limitations may affect how Ravelo behaves.
You agree not to intentionally abuse, bypass, manipulate, or interfere with Ravelo's enforcement logic, Time Currency system, diagnostics, early-access systems, subscription checks, or app restrictions.
5. Ravelo Pro and subscriptions
Ravelo may offer optional paid features through Ravelo Pro. Pro features may include expanded app/category configuration, premium settings, advanced analytics, Hardcore Mode-related features, or other features shown in the app at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple controls billing, payment methods, refunds, cancellation flows, renewal settings, and App Store account management.
RevenueCat is used to display offerings, validate receipts, restore purchases, and determine subscription entitlement status. If your subscription becomes inactive, Ravelo may enforce Free-plan limits, reset premium-only selections, disable premium-only modes, remove active market purchases that violate Free-plan limits, or otherwise adjust app state to match the active plan.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store account settings.
6. Early access, email, and offer codes
If you submit an early-access form, you agree that Ravelo may use your email address to manage beta access, send TestFlight or launch information, prevent duplicate signups, enforce capacity limits, and deliver applicable offer codes or release updates.
Early access, beta seats, TestFlight links, launch offers, and offer codes are not guaranteed. They may be limited, delayed, revoked, changed, or discontinued.
7. Diagnostics and support
If you contact support or send diagnostics, you authorize Ravelo to use the information you provide to investigate bugs, respond to requests, improve reliability, and maintain the Service.
Diagnostic reports may include app version, build number, iOS version, timezone, app-state summaries, permission state, balance state, market or focus state, runtime logs, and other troubleshooting data generated by the app and extensions.
Do not send diagnostics or support messages containing information you do not want Ravelo to review for support purposes.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to extract Ravelo source code except where applicable law expressly allows it.
- Circumvent subscription checks, paywalls, Free-plan limits, Screen Time enforcement, or Time Currency rules.
- Manipulate device time, app state, local storage, diagnostics, or backend requests to obtain unauthorized access or credits.
- Abuse early-access forms, capacity limits, offer-code processes, support channels, or diagnostic upload systems.
- Use Ravelo in a way that violates law, infringes third-party rights, disrupts the Service, or harms other users.
9. Availability and changes
Ravelo may change, add, limit, suspend, or remove features at any time. We may update Free-plan limits, Pro features, pricing, analytics events, remote configuration, diagnostic behavior, early-access processes, and app-store offerings.
We may also need to change behavior in response to Apple API changes, iOS updates, App Store requirements, security issues, infrastructure limits, or product improvements.
10. No guarantees
Ravelo is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to make the app reliable, but we do not guarantee that Ravelo will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every iOS version or device state, or able to block every app or category in every circumstance.
We do not guarantee any productivity, health, academic, financial, employment, behavioral, or mental-health outcome from using Ravelo.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ravelo and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost productivity, missed deadlines, device issues, subscription issues, or failure of Apple Screen Time APIs, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Third-party services
Ravelo depends on third-party platforms and services, including Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, Firebase, email providers, diagnostic infrastructure, hosting providers, and other vendors. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
13. Termination
You may stop using Ravelo at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to parts of the Service if we believe you violated these Terms, abused the Service, created security risk, or used Ravelo unlawfully.
Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. You must manage subscriptions through your Apple App Store account settings.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
